Hello, I’m AGATA.

——————

As a New York State Board Licensed Physical Therapist and PNF Level 5 Therapist accredited by the International PNF Association (IPNFA), my journey in physical therapy started in Poland and led me to the esteemed neuro-rehab residency at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo, CA. This intensive experience, combined with my tenure in several NYC PT offices between 2012 and 2020, shaped my understanding of the complex dynamics of physical therapy. I observed that in many practices, the rush often compromised patient recovery. Thus, I founded ToThrive Physical Therapy, focusing on a sports-centric methodology while integrating holistic insights to address the entire spectrum of patient needs.

Beyond my professional title, I am a joyful mother and a former professional athlete. I embarked on my athletic journey with tennis at the tender age of six, later transitioning to archery. My pinnacle moment was representing the Polish National Team. This rich athletic heritage, intertwined with my experiences as a mother, solidifies my patient-care approach. I emphasize body adaptability, injury prevention, and the seamless blend of sports therapy with holistic well-being.

At ToThrive, our prime emphasis is on personalized treatment. I fuse manual therapy with functional training, ensuring our methods are always rooted in evidence-based practices. My primary goal is to deeply understand the core issues plaguing my patients, aiming to amplify their physical prowess while nurturing their mental resilience. Through this balanced approach, I am determined to help patients achieve and even surpass their peak performance levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

—————

  • Physical therapy’s main benefit is recognizing the problem caused by your injury and applying a made-to-measure treatment.

The experience and knowledge of your physical therapist will be key to successfully completing treatment.

Our aim is to bring your health back ‘for good’ rather than providing a quick fix. To put it simply - Physical Therapy is part of the maintenance and performance procedure you need to get you back on a consistent and healthy pattern.

  • At PhysioNY, each physical therapy treatment session is 60 minutes long, and you will work with one fully dedicated therapist.

Compare this to a regular physical therapy session, and you would normally only receive 15-30 minutes max one-on-one time. We believe 60 minutes is the perfect length of time for both therapist and patient to find the right focus and get results quickly.

  • We treat various conditions ranging from post-operation, and acute injury to chronic injuries, educating our patients to develop and maintain healthy habits to help them prevent injuries in the future. Our emphasis is on preventing injury to help you start your exercise journey.

Below are some conditions we see patients but not limited to:

    • Low Back Pain / Strain, Postural Dysfunction, and Stenosis / Sciatica

    • Neck Pain / Strain, Stenosis, Stiffness, Postural Dysfunction

    • Shoulder Pain / Strain, Rotator Cuff Syndrome, Subluxation, Impingement

    • Hip Pain, Osteoarthritis, Bursitis, Labral Pathology

    • Knee Pain, ACL recovery, Patellofemoral Pain, Osteoarthritis

    • Ankle Pain, Plantar Fascistic, Sprain, Shin Splints, Achilles Injury

  • The short answer is NO - Physical Therapy can be a long-term approach that helps you evolve a healthy lifestyle by teaching you how to move correctly, exercise smart, and get to the level of performance you want to get to without getting injured on the way. It will also combine aspects such as preventing injury, enhancing flexibility, and improving movement quality. Do not wait until pain arises; if any limitations are noticed in your body, you should see your physical therapist immediately!

Agata was professional, courteous, and ver knowledgeable . She listened to all of my concerns and , after a thorough evaluation, worked her magic! After some manual therapy and a few exercises, she had me feeling better after just one session. She even gave me some exercises to do on my own so that I could continue to improve. If you need PT, you won’t be disappointed; Agata is the best!

  • Elyssa Heller

I first met Agata when I had an ACL revision after my original injury 10 years earlier. I could not run and had lots of pain walking, stairs etc. After surgery, due to Agata’s knowledge of the injury, collaboration efforts with the surgeon and genuine care for her patients, IO was read to run for the first time in 10 years within 3 months. of PT with her. I then slipped on black ice, suffering a broken kneecap, compounding the injury and making PT very complicated. We continued to work together, and not only did Agata help me walk again, but she also coached me through strength training and flexibility and trained me to be back at my best. She is the single best PT I have ever worked with and always treats the patient, not their symptoms. As an athlete herself, she knows how to get people back into action. I will never go to anyone else for physical therapy!

  • Rebecca G

Agata is the best! She helped me to fix a chronic help and lower back issue which nobody else could diagnose or explain. She is very technical and explains everything carefully. She’s also very patient and kind, which was much needed when I was in pain. I highly recommend her!

It has been a pleasure to work with Agata. She is extremely knowledgeable and has taught me numerous ways to help with my hip pain. I also really love the one-on-one attention Agata provides. I have been to PT in the past, where I barely saw the therapist and was just put on a machine to do my own thing. Highly recommend Agata!
